Through a partnership with YoYoFactory we at YoYoTricks.com are happy to bring you the Oracle yoyo, our highest recommended yoyo for players getting started in two-handed yoyoing. Besides being inexpensive and reliable, the Oracle yoyo also possesses several other traits that make it the perfect choice for introducing a player to 2A yoyoing. First, it does not have an adjustable gap like more expensive 2A yoyos like the Loop 1080. While an adjustable gap is great for advanced 2A players, it can be annoying for players just getting started with two-handed tricks because it leaves too much guesswork. With adjustable gap yoyos, a new player might ask themselves Am I just terrible at looping, or is the gap on my yoyo set wrong? The Oracle Yoyo removes this obstacle with a perfectly set gap that leaves no questions in the mind of the player, so they can simply focus on practicing.
Second, the gap of the Oracle yoyo is set slightly wide which makes looping easier and allows for extra long spin times. Most professional 2A players use their yoyos with a very narrow gap which makes reverse loops (i.e. punching bags) faster, but yoyos setup this way can make learning the basics incredibly difficult. The Oracle has a sweet spot for its gap-width that slows tricks down just a bit making everything easier to learn. This also allows the yoyos to sleep much longer making wraps and Around the World tricks easier to practice.
Finally, the Oracle yoyos are made out of a slightly softer plastic than other two-handed yoyos. This would not be worth mentioning except to say that these yoyos hurt less when they hit you, which may take some of the fear out of practicing certain types of tricks.
If you are serious about getting into 2A we highly recommend getting the Oracle Yoyo Two-Handed Pack which comes with extra strings and thick yoyo lube which helps keep the yoyos playing consistently. We also recommend that you consider getting replacement pads for the Oracle Yoyo. In our experience the brake pads in the Oracle Yoyo need to be replaced every 10 – 20 hours of aggressive practice. Beginners will likely not need to replace the pads nearly so often.
